This post is about how to eat healthy on vacation.

Eating healthy during vacation can be difficult, especially when trying to pack lightly, but can be done!
If you are someone who try’s to maintain a healthy lifestyle, but love to vacation, this guide is perfect for you (I know from personal experience!)
1. Plan Ahead

It is very common to eat out during vacation, so planning ahead to dine at restaurants with healthy meal options is crucial.
Most restaurants hold healthy breakfast, lunch, and dinner choices for you to eat yummy, but nutritious, food.
Also, most areas you are likely to travel to will have many restaurants and other places to eat for you to choose from, and pre-planning will have you set before you get there!
2. Pack Snacks

Packing simple nutritious snacks like trail mix, granola bars, and dried fruits (my favorite) will keep you in your healthy lifestyle while on vacation.
Selecting your choice of snacks will ensure you can maintain your nutrition and avoid purchasing expensive snacks else where.
3. Buy Groceries

While it is very common to eat out during vacation, buying your own groceries will greatly benefit you in many areas.
Visiting grocery stores during a trip is no different than when you are grocery shopping at home. This way, you will be able to upkeep the same healthy meal plan on vacation as you do at home.
Also, it saves SO MUCH money buying groceries and cooking your own meals rather than eating out every night.
4. Stay Disciplined

Staying disciplined during vacation is not easy- it’s actually very hard, but will leave you feeling satisfied with yourself after the hard work.
For example, drinking water instead of cocktails, straying from all of the yummy desserts, choosing more nutritious meals over unhealthy foods, etc.
Although vacations are some of the hardest times to remain in your wanted meal plan, sticking to it and having a good mindset will push you further in your health.
REMINDER: it is still important to eat the foods that make you happy and doing so does not mean you are not disciplined!!
5. Keep Up Healthy Habits

While trying to eat healthy on vacation, it is also important to stick to your healthy habits, staying in that routine.
Don’t forget to get your daily walk in, write in your journal, listen to a podcast, read a book, etc.
Doing so will keep you in the right mindset to stick to your healthy habits.
IMPORTANT!! Don’t forget vacation is all about having fun, so don’t let eating healthy ruin your fun time. A little piece of cake won’t hurt you once, and it is important to have BALANCE as well.
Go have fun on vacation while remaining pleased with your healthy lifestyle!
